A simple approach to financial planning
Our advice encompasses every key area of financial planning – helping you protect, grow, and plan for your future with confidence.
It's never too early to start planning for retirement.
The State Pension age has increased to 67 for many people and there are always ongoing changes in the pension structure, so we know firsthand the difference an early start can make.
At EJS, we’ll guide you through a range of pension investment strategies that are appropriate for your own situation and future aspirations.
As you approach retirement, we’ll also explain the process for taking benefits from your pension fund(s), along with any associated tax implications. Whether it’s buying an Annuity, drawing down lump sums or regular income, we’ll find the solution that best meets your needs.
At EJS, we say that selecting investments can feel like navigating a never-ending maze.
There are countless options out there, each serving a person and their needs slightly differently. We’re here to make personal recommendations, carefully considering the amount of risk you are willing, and able, to take.
As a truly independent investment adviser, we can offer a totally unbiased view on your suitability for any investment.
Whenever you invest it is important to remember that the value of your investments can fall as well as rise.
No financial planning can predict life’s next event, but we can help insulate you from its potential impact.
We offer life insurance and protection policies that ensure you and your family remain financially secure, no matter what happens. We can also help you cover specific inheritance tax liabilities and protect you against unaffordable costs.
Reducing uncertainty is one of the key benefits to working with a financial adviser. We’re here to help you get on with your life – free from worry.
All financial planning has tax implications, but we always contemplate tax mitigation options and encourage our clients to take advantage of reliefs and allowances.
Our solutions range from the straightforward – such as using your annual ISA and capital gains tax exemptions – to the more complicated, like investing through trusts. We also advise on specialist vehicles that provide government-approved, tax-efficient investment opportunities, such as Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS) and Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs), and Business Relief (BR) Schemes.
No matter your situation, we’ll find tax-efficient ways for you to save, invest, protect, and pass on your wealth.
Without appropriate care in place, Inheritance Tax can leave families and assets broken for generations to come.
Mitigating Inheritance Tax is more than just a one-off exercise – and we’re here to make it easier. We’ll help you consider every potential implication in your financial plan.
We recommend tailored solutions that could save you significant sums of money – from buying a dedicated insurance policy to giving away what you can afford while you still have time.
For more immediate solutions, we also offer structured investment strategies that allow you to take advantage of tax reliefs.
We strive to support you through these complex, technical issues with sensitivity and care.
Every company should provide strong employee benefits if they want to retain the best people.
At EJS, we take the time to understand your business so we can suggest the most cost-effective package in conjunction with your wider business strategy.

- Health Care: Private medical insurance and cash plans
- Employee Assistance Programmes: Intended to help employees deal with personal problems that could impact their work performance and wellbeing.
- Key Person Insurance: Intended to ensure a business is not affected by the loss of specialist skills following the death of a critical employee
- Partnership and Share Protection – Intended to provide sufficient funds in the event of the death (or critical illness) of a partner or shareholder
We also offer face to face advice for individual employees when considered appropriate.

Our Fees
How we are paid
During your meeting, we’ll explain exactly how our charges work. You’ll also receive details about our FCA regulation, the types of products we advise on, and any other information we’re required to provide.
Clients usually pay for advice in one of two ways:
- Fees - We agree our fees with you upfront, so you know the cost before any work begins. Your adviser will talk you through the fee structure clearly, and everything will be confirmed in writing.
- Commission - For certain protection products, we may receive commission from the provider. If this applies, we’ll tell you how much commission is paid and ensure it’s shown in your documentation.
Our method of remuneration, whether fee-based or via commission, will be agreed with you beforehand. No fees will be charged without prior confirmation.
